Children’s Montessori School was started in 1996 for all children in Peru, LaSalle, and other surrounding areas. Montessori families have shown a true dedication for their child by having to travel 30 to 45 minutes to attend the school. Deb Selner, the administrator started the school with 12 students in the First Congregational Church of Peru. Currently, 65 students are enrolled in Preschool through 3rd Grade. For Preschool, the school offers full day and half day classes. For Elementary, the program is full day and offers extra curricular activities including Spanish, Music, Computer, Art, and Physical Education. A recommended observation is encouraged for anyone who would like to experience the Montessori approach to learning.
